Teen Spirit | Salt Lake Family Photographer

I have been so lazy about blogging. Lazy and distracted. If I could just try to focus on one thing at a time. I want to do it all, and now! Right now I’m working on getting my home office organized. I’m hoping a clean and organized space will give me the room I need to think clearly, and FOCUS, FOCUS.

I made the trek down to Ikea with my good friend Connie yesterday. I have been avoiding that place like the plague…the mere though of driving down to that gigantic blue building intimidated me. Until yesterday, I think I was one of the only persons in Salt Lake never to have crossed the threshold of the infamous Ikea. Well, I broke down, and whatta ya know, I am now the proud owner of the most perfectly perfect shelf that holds all of my books, packaging materials, Photoshop books, photography magazines, baskets filled with lenses and photo gear. Yes! Yes! I feel organized. (The only question remaining is what to do with all the crap that’s now sitting in my living room looking for a home).

So, I photographed this sweet family this past Fall. The evening was cold and the trees had lost most of their leaves, but with smiles like these, we didn’t need a perfectly lush background. Although I will say that mom is a wonderful gardener and even at the gates of Winter, this back yard looked like a little corner of our local Red Butte Gardens (and for those who’ve never been there, that’s a compliment). I’d say the kids enjoyed themselves, despite having to endure the agony (ohhhh, the agony!) of mom hiring a photographer to capture those fleeting teenage years. No, really, these kids were so sweet. I love the last shot on the trampoline. Talk about sweet.
